About me
I'm veteran content strategist/designer/UX writer and marketing writer, offering unique writing, editing and reporting skills. I live in Indian Trail, N.C.
Currently, I’m a contract senior content designer at Truist bank, working primarily on digital commercial pages, relaying information to users succinctly.
I'm a former senior content strategist contractor at Charles Schwab, where I worked with the Managed Investing Open and Enroll team. My duties included making it easier for representatives to help clients sign up for brokerage, living trust, and individual retirement accounts. Most recently, I'm designing methods to enroll high-net-worth clients in Schwab Wealth Advisory.
I've also been a contractor at US Bank, Wells Fargo, and for a large telecommunications company, all as a content strategist/UX writer.
Before that, I was as a senior content strategist at Red Ventures, an online marketing and sales company in Fort Mill, SC. In that role, I help plan content strategy encompassing SEO and marketing content. I also edited for, wrote with and managed writing teams. My pieces have been published on Zillow.com, NASDAQ.com, US News, Business.com and many more. I've created assets that have won links from the BBC.com and ScientificAmerican.com, among others.
Before coming to Red Ventures, I spent time as a senior editor at Business North Carolina magazine in Charlotte and years in newspapers.
Among the cover stories I’ve written at Business North Carolina are pieces on the CEO who hoped to resurrect Oakwood Homes – he didn’t; the president of Bennett College, who hoped to resurrect the historically black women’s college – she did; and on the CEO of State Employees Credit Union, who hoped to make credit unions a viable alternative to banks in North Carolina – he’s still doing it. I’ve also written profiles of Bojangles’ former CEO, who bounced back from a debilitating automobile accident to guide the company’s expansion, and of Mark Packer, who created a sports-talk radio franchise after stepping into the host’s job with virtually no broadcasting experience.
I’ve been the lead editor on articles about the marketing of Duke’s Coach K, the developing aerotropolis at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro and a Triad man who hopes to resume production of the famed Grumman Goose airplane. I’ve profiled a textile worker who lost her job at Pillowtex, detailed how trees become lumber at an Asheboro sawmill and explained how Cheerwine soft drink is made in Salisbury and Miller Beer was made in Eden. I’ve also written and edited a variety of shorter pieces for the magazine.
Freelance clients have included Business North Carolina, UNC Charlotte, N.C. State University and Defense Standard magazine.
